Minutes of Lake Elmo City Council Meeting, June 1. 1976 <br />page 2 <br />Demontreville Highlands continued- Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd by Council- <br />man Shervheim authorizing mayor and clerk to sign contract for the <br />purchase of Demontreville Highlands Park Property subject to conditions <br />specified in counsel letter of March 15, 1976. Cost is $56,250. plus <br />city share of surveyor charges. Carried 5-0. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Pott calling for <br />Purchase Agreement Development Contract but approving previous park <br />contract even if agreement not cleared by park anticipated closing <br />on June 11, 1976. Carried 5-0. <br />Flood Control: Engineer reported elevations on June 1, 1976 were as follows: <br />Long Lake N 938.15 S. 938.12 <br />Olson 929.43 Deer Pond 924.05 <br />Berschens 914.79 Jane 922•38 <br />Sunfish 892.61 Elmo 885.68 <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Pott that we <br />cancel contract for rental of pumps and have them removed as of <br />Thursday, A.M. (June 3, 1976). Carried 5-0. <br />Board of Review: Councilman Abercrombie offered Resolution R76-17 requesting county <br />to make overall policy on assessment -of property damaged by flooding. <br />2nd by Councilman Shervheim. Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Mayor <br />Eder to amend resolution so any reduction may not bring the value <br />below 85% of the market value. Amendment carried 5-0. <br />Resolution carried 5-0. <br />Copies of letters presented to Board to be distributed to council <br />before next meeting so they can evaluate and make decision at next <br />meeting of council, June 15, 1976 at 5:00 pm. <br />Roland Bird: Request for minor -sub -division approval. Councilman Shervheim <br />offered resolutiola,F-6 <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie to <br />approve minor subdivision for Mr. Robert Bird at 2244 Manning Ave. <br />(3.8A pt. SEJ of SE4, Sec. 24) after receipt of a survey of property. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Abercrombie to have <br />building inspector check setbacks on Bird application for building <br />permit to assure that it is not in conflict with proposed development <br />of county Hwy. 15. Carried 5-0. <br />Councilman Abercrombie presented Ordinances 7404 and 7405 amending <br />section 301.02 of Lake Elmo Municipal Code relating to Zoning district <br />boundaries and asked for council approval. 2nd. by Councilwoman Lyons. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />Minor Subdivision: Councilman Shervheim requested counsel to prepare resolution regard- <br />ing possible changes in minor sub -division policy for consideration <br />by council. <br />Parking: Mr. Brian Crombie raised objection to continued parking on Demontreville <br />Trail even though no parking signs had been installed. Clerk instructed <br />to write to sheriff and copy Officer Furstenberg. Letter to_ include <br />occasional visitation on Lakes by Officer Orth. <br />
