Minutes of the Lake Elmo City Council Meeting, Aug. 17, 1976-- page 2 <br />Insurance Committee cont'd.-- Because of job conflict Dave Zinschlag <br />advised that he would no longer be able to serve on the <br />committee. Attempts should be made to get an inventory <br />and the appraisal of buildings and then reschedule a meeting <br />for the Insurance Committee with the council .for the second <br />meeting in October (19) at 5:00 P.M. Reminder notice to be <br />sent to committeemen. <br />Ralph Oace: Request for a variance on Lot 6, Rlodk 1, Oace 4th <br />Addition (Torrence property). Discussion as whether <br />or not this was the best use for the property because <br />of the topography. Motion by Councilman Shervheim <br />2nd by Councilman Pott to refer file back to the PZC <br />indicating that the reasons for their denial are well <br />founded, the council sees the lot width requirement as <br />being the critical one and given the topography of these <br />lots the council would not be opposed to approving based <br />on a recommendation from the PZC with emphasis on PZC <br />advising the council what the consequences to the city <br />are in loner range planning of the irregular lot lines. <br />Carried 4-1. Councilman Abercrombie opposed. <br />(No comments in the file --the PZC ought to get comments <br />from the engineer. <br />Ed Nielsen: SUP for more than one accessory building on 4 acres <br />plus keeping a horse on the property. Council advised <br />that requirement for horse was 20 acres and requested <br />that this be removed from the permit. <br />Motion by Councilman Abercrombie, 2nd by Councilman <br />Shervheim to approve the SUP for a second accessory <br />building on the 4 acre-plot'at 949R Stillwater Blvd. -- <br />Size of building 16'x34t. Carried 5-0. <br />Ballfield Lights: John Mueller advised that a couple of options <br />were available for new controls on the lights on the <br />Lake Elmo ballfield. After some discussion John was <br />instructed to get a firm price on a remote button. <br />Park Committee: Dave Morgan advised that to get the ballfield in <br />shape in Pebble Park would require about S2140 in <br />materials: limerock, 5500., top dirt,S900., sod,$300., <br />outfield crass seed $2.40. and fertilizer, $100. plus <br />1 day of grading by the city crew/ <br />Motion by Councilman Abercrombie 2nd bv_ Councilwoman <br />Lyons to approve $2,140. expenditure. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />Dave advised that estimates for 3 tennis courts in <br />Pebble Park came in at $19,500, <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd. by Councilwoman Lyons <br />to proceed with adv. for bids based on specs acceptable <br />to the engineer. Carried 5-0. <br />
