Minutes of Lake Elmo City Council MeetincJ, September 7, 1976. <br />Meeting called to order at 7:35 n.rl. by "layor. F(er. <br />Present: Mayor Eder, Councilmen Shervheim & Pott and Councilwoman <br />Lyons. <br />Absent: Councilman Abercrombie <br />Also present: Bldg. Insp. Mueller, Counsel Raleigh and Fngineer <br />BoneGtroo <br />Newspaper Boxes: Mike MacDonald advised that the paper was unable <br />to get door to door carriers and he ended up with a <br />contract to deliver papers. The only way residents <br />will get the paper is to accept the tube container for <br />roadside delivery. Council advised that sore of the <br />installations were improper and advised that at least <br />they would comply with post office regulations. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd hv_ Councilwoman <br />Lyons to table action until the next council meeting <br />September 21, 1976. Carried 4-0. <br />Councilman Abercrombie absent. <br />Mike Mac Donald <br />542 Skillman <br />*1aplewood, ^In. 771-39q7 <br />Stankey- Mr.. Mueller submitted a written report on the back- <br />ground of the Stankey Greenhouse permit. Council re- <br />viewed and heard comments from the citizens protesting <br />extension of the permit on the or.iainal structure and <br />insisting action he taken to guarantee its removal. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim ,'_nd by Councilman nott <br />to inform Mr. Stankey that his operation is a non-con- <br />formina use. There is to be no planting of new crop <br />for the 1977 season. The plant operation is to cease <br />by January 1, 1977 and the structure is to be removed <br />by May 1, 1977. <br />Carried 4-0. <br />Dogs: Mr. Stanwav advised that a cyclist had been bitten. <br />It occurred about 2 weeks ago on a Vlednesday n.m. <br />Owner of the dog is Mrs. Johnson, who lives across <br />from Stanway. Council agreed to have MApST patrol <br />this area and see if they find any animal violations. <br />Bldg. Insp. Requested permission to spend total of one days time <br />to sit down with Counsel and review ordinances re- <br />lative to building code. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim 2nd by Councilman Putt <br />to approve 1 day of conference of Bldc7. Insp, and <br />Counsel to review ordinances as they relate to the <br />building code and then mak-e their recommendation for <br />changes to the council. Carried 4-0. <br />Oace 4th. Addition: Postponed --new date to he determined. <br />
