MINUTES OF LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />DECEMBER 21, 1976 <br />Meeting called to order at 5:08 p.m. by Mayor Eder. <br />Present: Mayor Eder, Councilmen Abercrombie, Shervheim & Pott <br />and Councilwoman Lyons. <br />Also Present: Building Inspector Mueller, Counsel Raleigh, <br />Engineer Bonestroo, Mayor -elect Armstrong and <br />Councilman -elect Morgan. <br />Minutes Minutes of December 7, 1976 - Page 1 Don Erie Variance - Amend <br />second sentence to read a variance is permissable when alternate system <br />is deemed safe by the Engineer. Motion by Councilman Shervheim, <br />seconded by Councilman Abercrombie to accept minutes of December 7, <br />1976 Council meeting as amended. Carried 5-0. <br />Salary Motion by Councilman Abercrombie, seconded by Councilwoman Lyons to <br />Schedule accept the following wage schedule - Marilyn Banister $3.40, Edna <br />for 1977 Beers $4.05, Bob Wier $6.54 and Elmer Richert $7.04. A clothing <br />allowance of $100.00 will also be allowed for the maintenance depart- <br />ment. Carried 5-0. <br />Insurance - <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim, seconded by Councilman Pott that <br />Clerk -Treasurer request the life insurance agent of record to <br />investigate what additional life insurance and major medical <br />insurance options might be considered. Report to be requested by <br />an early date preferably by the second meeting in February. Carried <br />5-0. <br />Deputy Motion by Councilman Abercrombie, seconded by Councilman <br />Treasurer to appoint Maynard Eder as deputy treasurer to serve for an indefinite <br />time and to represent the City on the AMM. He will assist the clerk - <br />treasurer on budgetary matters. Salary is $100.00 plus reimbursement <br />for out-of-pocket expenses incurred. Carried 4-0. Mayor Eder abstained <br />Metropoli- Mayor Eder offered Resolution R-76-37 recommending appointment of <br />tan Waste Calvin J. Brookman to a full term on the Metropolitan Waste Control <br />Control Commission and asked for Council confirmation. Seconded by Councilman <br />Commission Shervheim. Carried 5-0. <br />Appmt. <br />Clerk -Treasurer instructed to send copy of resolution to Mrs. Opal <br />Peterson who has to make the recommendation. <br />Metropoli- Mayor Eder offered Resolution R-76-38 recommending the appoint - <br />tan Council ment of Mrs. Opal Peterson as representative from District 14 <br />Representative to the Metropolitan Council and asked for Council confirmation. <br />A: intment Seconded by Councilman Abercrombie. Carried 5-0. <br />Clerk -Treasurer instructed to send copy of resolution to Governor's <br />office. <br />
