R-76-21 <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING SEWER USER CHARGE SYSTEM <br />FOR THE CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo owns and operates a sanitary sewer system; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is required by law to pay the Metropolitan Waste Control <br />Commission for sewage treatment and interceptor costs from sewer user charges; and <br />WHEREAS, the City is required to apportion sewer system and treatment costs <br />based strictly on rates to users of the system at sufficient rates to pay the yearly <br />cost of operating and maintaining the collection system, treatment costs and inter- <br />ceptor costs; and <br />WHEREAS, an analysis of current costs and rates indicates the need to generate <br />additional revenue to operate each system in accordance with Federal and State laws <br />and in a sound financial manner: <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Lake Elmo <br />that the following rate schedule is hereby established and approved as the rate <br />schedule for users of the sanitary system: <br />Sanitary Sewer Charge: <br />(1) Residential Property. <br />A constant rate of $0.50 for each 1,000 gallons of sewage flow, <br />whether water is metered or not. The minimum charge shall be <br />$9.00 per quarter. <br />(2) Commercial or other uses. <br />A constant rate of $0.50 for each 1,000 gallons of sewage flow, <br />whether water is metered or not. The minimum charge shall be <br />$9.00 per quarter. <br />(3) Connection Charge. <br />(a) The connection charge for residential users shall be $175.00. <br />(b) The connection charge for commercial or other users shall be <br />$350.00. <br />The user charges established by this Resolution shall be effective immediately <br />and shall remain in effect until changed by further action of the City Council. <br />Adopted by the City Council this 6th day of July, 1976. <br />Maynard L.
