Minutes of Lake Elmo City Council Meeting June 7, 1977. <br />Meeting called to order at 7:37 pm by Assistant Mayor Shervheim. <br />Present. mayor Armstrong (7:40), Councilwoman Lyons 7:40 and. <br />Councilmen Shervheim, Pott and Morgan <br />Also present: Counsel Raleiah, Bldg. Insp. Mueller, Fnaineer Noyes, <br />Planner Loucks and Adm. Assistant �,Thittaker. <br />Oaces: Presented city with two checks amounting to $1,03.1.01 to <br />cover pass thru expense which they had been billed. Sub- <br />division Lot 6-Block 1, Oace 4th..Addition. Oaces have put <br />together all of the details which have been requested by the <br />city and its officials. Motion by Councilman Morgan 2nd b_y <br />Councilwoman Lyons to give tentative approval to Preliminary <br />plat subject to satisfying city counsel and city engineer <br />that all of the special requirements had been met. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />(To be scheduled on agenda of 6/21/77) <br />Water Tower-- Paint is again peeling off of the legs on the water <br />tower. This is a repeat of last years problem. Caused, as <br />some citizens have pointed out, by improper preparation before <br />painting in 1975. <br />Tom Bidon: 8528 Lake Jane Trail --Possible change of layout at the <br />intersection of Lake Jane Trail, 45th. and Irish Court. <br />Road design is presently a curved corner. Recommendation <br />is to make this intersection a 900 corner with two stop signs. <br />Motion by Mayor Armstrong 2nd by Councilman Pott to allow <br />the developer (Mogren-Shrier) to hold off on road for a month <br />to allow engineer to determine feasability and cost estimate. <br />Carried. 5-0. <br />Recess at 8:00 p.m. reconvened at 8:15 p.m. <br />See transcript for details on discussion of I-94 Route. <br />I-94 -- Councilman Shervheim of_fereO Resolution R.77-6 outlining <br />Lake Elmo's position relative to contributing toward and <br />entering into a lawsuit challenging selection of Southern <br />Route for I-94 and asked council acceptance. <br />For —Councilwoman Lyons (see transcript for comments on <br />conflict of interest) Councilmen Shervheim and Pott. <br />Against ---Mayor Armstrong and Councilman Morgan. <br />Carried 3-2 <br />J. Mueller-- Uniform fire code. Modeled after Oakdale. <br />Council delegated Bldg. INsp. Mueller & Duane Grace to advise <br />counsel how the standards in the new fire code will effect <br />these existing uses we're concerned about so that counsel <br />can advise council what their responsibility is that is all <br />that is necessary and then it can he considered by the council <br />for adoption. <br />House size -current minimum 1150 sq. ft. county minimum is <br />960 sq. ft, living space. This may be included in the zoning <br />
