Pg.3 <br />Council Meeting - September 20, 1977 <br />Minutes: This approval to be held over until the Oct.4, 1977 meeting. <br />Claims: Motion by Mayor Armstrong 2nd by Councilman Morgan to <br />approve payment of claims 77754 thru 77773. Carried 5-0. <br />Fire Dept.:Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Shervheim to <br />approve the addition of Jeffrey S. Meyer to the Lake Elmo <br />Volunteer Fire Dept. Carried 5-0. <br />Correspondence:Meeting announcement from the Metro Council on Waste <br />Management Policy. Referred to Councilwoman Lyons. <br />Chicago -Northwestern Transportation Company- letter re- <br />questing a certified copy of the resolution authorizing <br />execution of the agreement to permit construction of a <br />drainage pipe on RR property. Counsel advised that this <br />was not necessary. <br />Letter from MTC asking if Lake Elmo had any recommendations <br />for location of waiting shelters for MTC passengers.Require- <br />ment is that 40 passengers a day catch the bus at thar stop. <br />Only locations that meet that criteria are at Cimarron, <br />Upper 33rd and Lake Elmo Ave and possibly Ideal & 212. <br />Letter from Jaycees thanking the council for their coop- <br />eration in promoting Huff & Puff Days. <br />Land values, per the assessor, for non greenbelt farm land <br />is $1,250/acre. This would apply to Eden Park 2nd Addition <br />and Tablyn Park 2nd Addition which are 15 and 26.5 acres <br />respectively. <br />PCA letter extending invitation for communities to send <br />in written comments , until October 1, 1977, on Open Burning <br />Regulation APC-8. Copy of the letter and Regulation to each <br />member of the council. <br />St. Paul Association for Retarded Citizens, Inc. asking if <br />Lake Elmo budgeted any funds for the mentally retarded. <br />Clerk to respond - negative. <br />Invitation to attend meeting of the Lake Elmo Business <br />Association - September 21, 1977 at 5:00 PM at Ben's. <br />Parking Petition: A petition was received from business's and residents <br />on Lake Elmo Ave. asking the council to consider making the <br />city owned property at 3505 Lake Elmo Ave. public off-street <br />parking. Council has already considered an offer by the <br />Jaycees to improve this property. <br />Street signs - Demontreville Highlands: City office has received calls <br />requesting street signs in the new development. Instructions <br />are to inform the people and the contractor that this is <br />part of the street standard and as such is the responsibility <br />of the developer. <br />
