Minutes of Lake Elmo City Council :Meeting, December 20, 1977. <br />Meeting called to order at 5:11 p.m. by Mayor Armstrong. <br />Present: ,tayor Armstrong, Councilmen Shervheim, Morgan & Pott (7:001-)m) <br />and Councilwoman Lyons. <br />Also present: Adm. Asst. 14hittaker, Counsel Raleigh, Bldg. Insp. Mueller. <br />Claims: Motion by Councilman Morgan, 2nd, by Councilwoman Lyons to <br />approve payment of claims 77970 thru 77990. <br />Carried 4-0. Councilman Pott not present at vote. <br />'•tinutes: Motion by Councilman Morgan 2nd by ltayor Armstrong to approve <br />ninutes of Council Meeting of December 6, 1977 council <br />meeting as submitted. Carried 4-0. <br />Speed zones --Cimarron: A petition was received from a number of con- <br />cerned citizens relative -to continued enforcement of <br />speed regulations in the Cimarron development. A list <br />of comments from citizens on both sides of the issue <br />was also received and is on file in the city office. <br />Councilman Shervheim offered Resolution R77-16 request- <br />ing that the question of speed lir"_ts in Cimarron be <br />directed to the State Highway Dep't. requesting that <br />they make a determination of appropriate speed zones <br />for Cimarron. 2nd by Councilman Morgan. Carried 4-0. <br />Meeting recessec' at 5:30 p.m. in favor of hearinq on reallocation of <br />Federal Revenue Sharing Funds expended in 1976. <br />leeting reconvened at 5:40 i).m. <br />Maintenance Bldg.: Council approved installation of necessary wiring <br />at Landfill site, necessary for welder. <br />Insurance: Letter received from Aetna Insurance Co. Accident and Loss <br />Control Division. They made 2 recommendations: 1. That <br />the bench grinder be equipped with proper tool rests, <br />and 2. That pre -employment physicals be required of all <br />new employees. Item one will be corrected, item 2 will <br />be considered but Lake Elmo has no immediate plans to <br />hire additional personnel <br />Mobile Homes --Clerk reported that he had been contacted by the sales- <br />man from Cimarron relative to the possibility of moving <br />27 mobile homes into Lake Elmo, possibly the Iiammes Pro- <br />perty, for short term storage. He wants them all at one <br />location for display and supposedly quick sale. Clerk <br />advised him that he would have to make proper application <br />through the city office and in all probability go to a <br />hearing before the pzc. Councilwoman Lyons confirmed the <br />request and advised that she had referred the individual <br />to the mayor. <br />Cimarron Report from Cimarron that population as of December 1, 1977 <br />in Cimarron was 1,222. 485 units are now occupied. <br />School children grades 1-12 is 212 <br />
