R--77-3 <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION GRANTING SPECIAL USE PERMIT TO <br />WILLIAM C. HJELMGREN PERMITTING HOME OCCUPATION <br />WHEREAS, William C. Hjelmgren has applied for a special use <br />permit to conduct a home occupation at 10899 32nd Street North in <br />the City (which property is owned by his father William K. Hjelm- <br />gren)and <br />WHEREAS, it appears that under the provisions of Section <br />7.03 of the C;ity's zoning ordinance relating to home occupations <br />a special use permit is necessary because the proposed home occupa- <br />tion -- upholstery work - would take place in a detached garage; and <br />WHER&NS, it appears that a public hearing has been held by <br />the City Planning Commission and the Planning Commission has <br />recommended its approval of the special use permit application on <br />the conditions hereinafter set forth; and <br />WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that under the condi- <br />tions hereinafter ;yet forth said home occupation can be conducted <br />witnout detrimental effect on adjacent property or to the public <br />generally: <br />NOW, THEREFURE,, BE IT RESOLVED, that said William C. H jelrmgren <br />be granted a special use permit to conduct an upholstery business <br />in a detached garage at 10899 32nd Street North In the City of Lake <br />Elmo on the following conditions: <br />1. into on-prernise advertising of any kind shall be used. <br />2. The hours of operation shall be between 7:00 o'clock a.m. <br />and 9:00 o'clock p.m. on weekdays, 7:00 o'clock a.m. and 5:00 o'clock <br />p.m. on Saturdays and no operation on Sundays. <br />3. All reasonable efforts shall be made by the permittee to <br />discourage customers from coming to his shop (it being understood <br />that it is customary in the upholstery business for the upholsterer <br />to go to the hooves of the prospective customer to pick up orders <br />and to deliver the finished goods to the home of the customer. <br />4. Since the detached garage is air conditioned all windows <br />shall be shut when the hacker or other noisy ecluipzment is used. <br />Adopted by the City Council this 19th day of April, 1977. <br />THOMAS G.
