Pg. 3 <br />Minutes - Lake Elmo City Council Meeting April. 4, 1978 <br />out that no request to use facility had been received by the <br />City office even though tickets were already printed and being <br />sold. With the permit issued to use the facility on the 30th <br />there could be some conflict if the two functions were not <br />properly scheduled. Counsel Raleigh agreed to resolve the date <br />problems. Motion by Councilman Shervheim, 2nd by Mayor Armstrong <br />to approve issuance of 3.2 license to State Bank of Lake Elmo <br />Men's Softball Team for LasVegas Nite April 29, 1978. <br />Carried 5 - 0. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim, 2nd .by Mayor Armstrong to <br />approve use of April 29th by the above group. Carried 5 - 0. <br />It was also pointed out that April 29, 1978 is the date for <br />cleanup days at the City hall parking lot. <br />Agenda: Motion by Councilman Pott, 2nd by Mayor Armstrong to extend <br />adjournment to 11:25 to complete agenda. Carried 5 - 0. <br />Correspondence: Letter from Artie Schaefer relative to his thoughts <br />on advertis6ng signs. <br />Letter received from DNR regarding grant to Simall communities <br />(under 10,000) for Rural Fire Protection (Title IV)) grants. <br />Copies distributed to Adm. A W L and fire Chief for review. <br />Personnel Committee: Job description/personnel committee - Council <br />had just received copies and requested more time to study <br />before making any decision. Schedule for review at next <br />meeting. <br />Clerk salary and water meter readers salary were discussed. <br />Motion by Councilman Shervheim, 2nd by Councilman Pott to <br />approve, retroactive to January 1, 1978, an increase in the <br />clerk's salary of $300. annually and to change the water <br />meter readers rate from $3./hour to $.25 for each meter <br />read and $.10 for each card left for personal reading. <br />Carried 5 - 0. <br />Park. Advisory Committee: Councilman Morgan advised that he was <br />requesting that the Park Advisory Committee be changed to <br />Park Commission with nine members - 3 members would be <br />appointed each year for 3 year terms. Initial terms of <br />members would be established on a lottery basis. Counsel <br />to draw up final draft of ordinance. <br />Animal Control: Attempts by Adm.Ass't to find new coverage have been <br />unsuccessful. <br />Summer YouthbCETA - City will make application to get one employee for <br />the office and three employees to work with our maintenance <br />crew. <br />Subdivision policy - schedule for 4/18/78 at 5:00 P.M. <br />Adjournment: Motion by Councilman Shervheim, 2nd by Councilman <br />Morgan to adjourn at 11:30 P.M. <br />Carried 5 - 0. <br />
