Minutes of Lake Elmo CityCouncil Meeting, November 21., 1978 pg. 3 <br />Wages: Wage subcommittee (Pott &. Shervheim) requested Adm. Assistant report <br />be reviewed and item placed on agenda for meeting of <br />December 5, 1978. <br />Budget- Reserves: Action on Budget Reserve Fund expenditures delayed to <br />December 5, 1978 meeting. <br />County Planning Conference --Meeting of December 2. ( a one day seminar on <br />planning) is open to council, pzc and newly elected <br />officials. Registration fee $5.00. Council members <br />planning to attend are Armstrong, Lyons, Pott and <br />possibly Morgan. Others will be contacted. <br />Phones: Remodeling: Motion by. Mayor Armstrong 2nd by Councilman Morgan to <br />authorize proceeding with installation of necessary phones. <br />Carried 5-0. <br />Copier: Obtain quotes so a decision can be made. <br />Remodeling: Based on previous approval ok to proceed with getting bids. <br />>Oily one has been received <br />Meter Reader -,Janitor: Counsel to determine if a contract of this type is <br />legal before a decision can be made as to method of <br />employme':ht.. Ifcontract is not legal then direct part <br />time employm nt would -be -necessary. <br />Bldg. Insp.- Pete Kluegel--Motion by Councilman Morgan 2nd by Councilman :> <br />to hire Pete Kluegel as Building Inspector for hake Elmo- <br />Mahtomedi. Pay established at $17,000 plus $2184.00 <br />benefits and mileage of 25G/mile (subject to renegotiation) <br />for use of pensoa l car on job. carried 5-0. <br />Inspector Mueller, offered his services for 5 days, full <br />time (if City reimbursed=him for,*$ e lost) to acquaint <br />Mr. Kluegel with position; area and current construction. <br />Motion by Councilman Pott 2nd by Councilman Morgan to <br />accept Mr. Muellers offer for 2 days and then let Mr. <br />Kluegel determine if additional time is required. <br />Carried 5-0, <br />Stillwater Emergeney,Medical Services- Inc; Mr'. Tom Cropp, who purchased <br />`the.Stillwater Ambulance Service, presented an outline of <br />what he plans to offer. lie is requesting subsidizing from <br />county and local government at $1:00 per head. Mayor <br />advised that since city has ju_a.t-receivedothey wanted to <br />review proposal before makingany determination pro or con. <br />Lake Elmo Hardwood Lumber: Councilman Shervheim offered Resolution P78-47, <br />"A Resolution to approve a letter of commitment on Lake <br />Elmo Hardwood Lumber, Inc. Industrial Bond" and requested <br />council confirmation. Second by Mayor Armstrong. <br />bra tied 5-0. <br />
