SPECIAL LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, JULY 29, 1980 <br />-2- <br />BALL TOURNAMENT: Armstrong moved, seconded by Novak, to adopt <br />Ordinance 7918,, amending the Zoning Ordinance to allow the <br />City to issue a temporary "on -sale" license for the sale of <br />non -intoxicating malt liquor on or off school grounds, in and <br />out of school houses and buildings, and in or out of public <br />parks. Motion carried 4,1. Mottaz opposed. <br />Novak moved, seconded by Pott, to approve a temporary liquor <br />license to the Hidden Valley Lounge for a ball tournament <br />August 22, 23, 24, 1980, Motion carried 5-0. <br />CENSUS n PRELIMINARY DATA: Lake Elmo"s preliminary estimate is 51150, <br />up 100 from 1979. <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Armstrong, authorizing the Administrator <br />to return the preliminary figures stating Lake Elmo has no <br />questions on the preliminary estimates. Motion carried 5-0. <br />LICENSES: Morgan moved, seconded by Armstrong, to approve the licenses <br />for the following contractors: <br />All Construction, Inc,, 10740 110th.Street N „ Stillwater, Mn. <br />Scott Corp,, 2345 Rice Street, Suite`208, St. Paul, Mn, <br />Ra-Mar Plumbing, 97 Golden Lake Road VT., Circle Pines, Mn. <br />Motion carried 5-0, <br />TABLYN PARK TENNIS COURTS: 500 yds of sod and a construction wheel- <br />barrow are needed to complete construction of the tennis courts. <br />These items are not authorized in the budget for the courts. <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Pott, to approve a maximum of $500 <br />to complete construction of the tennis courts in Tablyn Park. <br />The purchase of the wheelbarrow to be charged 75% against the <br />Maintenance Department, Motion carried 5-0. <br />METER READER: Morgan moved, seconded by Armstrong, to authorize the <br />payment of $0.50 per home be paid March Eichen (meter reader) <br />this quarter, where she read both the inside and outside meters. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />Several descrepancies between outside and inside meter readings <br />have been found, The Administrator suggested that those meters <br />where over a 1,000 gal, descrepancy was found be pulled and <br />calibrated. The Council decided to reread those meters with <br />the large discrepancies the next quarter. If there is still <br />a problem; then, pull and calibrate them. <br />ADJOURNMENT: 6:00 p.m. Mayor Armstrong closed the Council meeting to <br />the public for Council discussion of a pending legal suit. <br />
