LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, AUGUST 19, 1980 <br />-6 - <br />H_ Civil Defense cont. -- The Administrator will advertise <br />for a Ui er ctor in the Newsletter. Cimarron is still Polli-nq <br />1 its residents on the siren. <br />I. Public Waters - Several public waters need to be named. <br />The Council will review the map, submit names, and return to <br />the Administrator. <br />J. Licenses - Armstrong moved, seconded by Morgan, to approve <br />the fo-Ioinng licenses: Temporary 'Liquor License for Lowell <br />Rieks, Jr. 4564 Kimbro Avenue for 8/23/80 and a Temporary <br />Liquor License for 'Washington County Police Wives Assn, for <br />8/24/80. Motion ca.rri.ed.4-0-1 Novak abstained. <br />K. Building Inspector - Mahtomedi Ratio.- Mahtomedi is anti- <br />cipating exceeding the 1 3 share for the Building Inspector. <br />They are willing to renegotiate and change the agreement for <br />1981. The Administrator recommended it should indicate that <br />their share will be adjusted quarterly based on residential <br />permits, total permits, and dollar value. <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Armstrong, to accept the Administrac <br />tor''s recommendation of the salary ratio for the Building <br />Inspector. Motion carried 5-0. <br />L. Others - Announcements <br />1. The Administrator reported on the special session with <br />the governor on August 20,at 3 p.m, on Potential Cuts in <br />State Aid Payments to Cities. The Administrator will attend. <br />2. The Metropolitan Council wants to hold its annual meeting <br />in Lake Elmo September 25 at 7:30 p.m. The Council had no <br />objection. <br />3. The Maintenance Building is on schedule. <br />4. Pk6 ect 1006 - The Council reviewed the proposed schedule <br />for Project 1006. The Council expressed concern with magni- <br />tude of this project cost, and their assessment projection. <br />Armstrong moved, seconded by Pott, to instruct the Administra- <br />tor to write Valley Branch and express Lake Elmo's concerns <br />and reiterate the City's position that the project should be <br />be built for toadys needs. Motion carried 5-0. <br />COUNCIL REPORTS: Morgan-1.. ��Schxfsky estimatedr;the cost to,repair'.l,the <br />courts at $5,000.to $6y000. <br />2. The lights at Pebble Park were broken intoandthe money <br />stolen. The timer is still not working for the lights. The <br />Administrator will call the electrician again. <br />Mottaz - A definition of what the '";Tri-Lakes" area is, <br />Recommended the City work with the Trig -Lakes Association to <br />�, define where the Tri-lakes area is and possibly request them <br />
