LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, OCTOBER 7, 1980 <br />-3- <br />CITY OFFICE ROOF; The -,roof'_= the",garae�e;.section should also be <br />replaced and insulation put in both roof areas. <br />TKDA has offered to assist the Inspector in writing up the specs. <br />The Inspector requested the Council authorize him to work with <br />the Engineer. <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Mottaz, to authorize the Building <br />Inspector to solicit bids for repair and insulation work on the <br />City Office roof, the garage roof to be bid as an alternate. <br />The Engineer is authorized to work with the Building Inspector <br />in drafting the specifications at a cost not to exceed $300. <br />Motion carried 5-0. The roofing work will conform with future <br />remodeling of the 'City Office. <br />Mayor Armstrong said the Council will call a special meeting to <br />review and award the low bid so that this work can be completed <br />before winter. <br />B. Park�She lt'er`�'and`:�fa l�tenahee Building - Seigfried is completing <br />the work eft'on__Tffe`Part S elter. Inspector Rosenau said grab - <br />bars will be needed in the restrooms. <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Armstrong, to appropriate $180 for <br />grab -bars in the restrooms of the Park Shelter. Mention carried <br />5-0. <br />Ma,intenanee-wilding - Construction is on schedule. The building <br />show d be ready for winter occupancy. <br />AUDITORS CONTRACT: Tabled until October 21, 1980. <br />SPEED ZONE RESOLUTION ON DEMONTREVILLE TRAIL: Armstrong moved, <br />seconded by Mottaz, to adopt Resolution 80-57, a resolution <br />requesting Washington County to take whatever steps are necessary <br />to reduce the speed limit to 30•MPH, and post same; on <br />DeMontreville Tr. N.; 50th Street N., and Olson Lake Tr. N. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />PARK ITEMS: A. Hay Croi, Sunfish Lake Park - Morgan reported that <br />the Park Commission has decided they dommnot want to pursue renting <br />the land in Sunfish Park and will just cut the weeds. <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Mottaz, to instruct the Maintenance <br />Department to use the City mower and cut the weeds in Sunfish <br />Park. Motion carried 5-0. <br />B. Park Trails- Councilman Morgan has received two quotes for <br />constructionof gravel trails in Sunfish Park. Pebble Park, and <br />Tablyn Park. Both quotes were over $10,000.making it necessary <br />for the City to advertise for bids. Morgan stated this work <br />must be completed in 1980 or the City will loose the grant money. <br />Armstrong moved, seconded by Mottaz; to authorize the Engineer <br />to work with Councilman Morgan in preparing specifications and <br />advertising for bids for trails in Sunfish Park, Pebble Park, <br />and Tablyn Park. Bids should reflect that the project be completed <br />by December 1, 1980. Motion carried 5-0. (Note: Other park items <br />later in meeting.) <br />
