LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, DECEMBER 16, 1980
aM.
PARK PLAN: The Council asked that the Park Commission review the plan
and submit their comments to the Administrator before the January
6, City Council meeting.
ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT:
A. Conditional Use Permits - The Council reviewed all the
current permits. The Council asked for a determination on
renewal for the following permits:
2. Louise Bahneman; 7. John Dill; 11. Bruce Kolcinski; 12.
Lauseng Stone; 16. Patti Homes; 17. Raymond Salus; 18. Lyle
Slawson; and 19. Green Acres.
Mottaz recommended that the speakers at Green Acres be relocated.
The Administrator will contact the owners to discuss moving
or changing the speakers to keep noise out of adjacent residential
areas.
The Council would like limits of expansion defined in the
Lauseng Stone Permit. They feel this business ought to be
restricted to the current operation with no further expansion.
The Building Inspector will inspect the business and notify
Lauseng of the Councils requirements.
The remaining permits will be checked out and the permit holders
will be notified of additional restrictions or requirements.
Armstrong moved, seconded by Novak, to approve the following
Conditional Use Permits:
Animal Inn; Richard Bergman; Berry Breheim; Cimarron Golf Course;
Sol Fisher Kennel; Leonard Hanson; William Hjelmgren; Lehmann
Mushroom; Vali-Hi Drive In; and the Oakdale Gun Club.
B. Mining Permits - Tabled until the Building Inspector
inspects the sites.
C. Licenses - Morgan moved, seconded by Mottaz, to approve the
following licenses: Heating Installer - Twin City Furnace, 459
N. Snelling Avenue, St. Paul, Mn. 55104. Motion carried 5-0.
D. I-94 Status - Administrator Whittaker reported on his
meeting with Mn/DOT on frontage roads, bike trails, County 19,
and the Park and Ride Site.
E. County Park - The Council reviewed the boundary map for
the Regional County Park; and discussed the necessity of
acquiring additional park land.
Mottaz moved, seconded by Novak, to notify the County that
Lake Elmo is opposed to any additional park land acquisition
unless the County can justify such acquisition as being a
necessity. Motion carried 4-1. Armstrong opposed.
F. 201 Schedule - The Council reviewed the schedule and had no
comments.
G. Met Council Recycling Survey - No comments
