LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING <br />MAY 5, 1981 <br />-5- <br />F. Count Rescue Subsidy - The Fire Department qualified for a <br />$3,O�su si y rom Washington County. The Fire Department needs <br />Council authorization to use this money for rescue equipment. <br />Mottaz moved, seconded by Morgan, to adopt R-81-31, A Resolution <br />authorizing the Mayor and City Administrator to sign a contract <br />with Washington County accepting a3,000 subsidy and agreeing to <br />spend these funds on rescue equipment. Motion carried 5-0, <br />Administrator Whittaker asked the Fire Chief to forward the EMS <br />Council minutes to the City Office. Fraser requested a list of <br />appointed positions and the people presently appointed to fill <br />them. <br />Steve Pott has been serving as the EMS Council Representative. <br />Morgan moved, seconded by Novak, to approve Steve Pott as the <br />Lake Elmo Fire Department's representative to the EMS Council. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />Mayor Eder commended Chief Kuettner and the Fire Department on <br />their excellent job. <br />PUBLIC INQUIRIES: <br />A. Tartan Park Storage Garage - The Council reviewed the site <br />plans for a cold storage garage in Tartan Park. The building will <br />1 be a metal structure and house grounds equipment. The Council <br />had no comments and recommended the Building Inspector review <br />the building plans. <br />B. LPD Electric - Did not come in. <br />OLINGER MINING PERMIT: Dan Olinger answered questions regarding <br />his mining permit application and the four recommendations of <br />the City Engineer. <br />Mottaz moved, to delay action on the mining permit until all <br />the previous violations were rectified. Motion failed for lack <br />of a second. <br />Mr. Olinger said he wished to plat only the lots around the <br />existing homes, at this time. The Engineer suggested a concept <br />plan be developed for the entire parcel. <br />Eder recommended that the required berming and screening be done, <br />between the Olinger property and the east property line,with_:the <br />excavation permit and the proposed subdivision. Mr. Olinger <br />agreed to berm and screen the area and indicated that most of the <br />dirt pile, along the west edge of the property, would be removed <br />within 60 to 90 days. <br />The Council instructed the Building Inspector to see that the <br />nuisances and violations are cleaned up and requested Mr. Olinger <br />to come back for review of his mining permit when the clean-up is <br />complete. <br />
