LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL - 8/4/81 <br />Page 6 <br />( 2) Citizen Delegate and Alternate - <br />Fraser moved that Dave Garloff be the Citizen delegate to <br />the Cable Commission, with Don Moe as alternate. Morgan changed <br />the motion to appoint Zona Butler as the alternate. Novak <br />seconded; motion as changed carried (5 ayes). <br />..Whittaker - No answer yet to question of whether the Cable <br />Commission can issue the franchise or whether the City issues <br />it once the Cable Commission approves it. <br />- We wouldhave two voting members, one from the City Council <br />and one citizen, and their equivalent alternates can vote but <br />not serve for each other. <br />C. VBWS Advisory Committee - No volunteers as of now, so no <br />recommendation. <br />COUNCIL REPORTS <br />A. Personnel Committee, Fraser - From 42 applicationsreceived for <br />job of Superintendent/Foreman of Maintenance, Whittaker met with <br />a large number of them, then prepared summary sheet (passed out with <br />applications) with his recommendations at bottom of sheet for most <br />likely candidates. Whittaker set up interviews with 4 of the candidates: <br />one Friday 8/7 at 9:30 a.m. and three Saturday 8/8 at 9:00 a.m. after <br />which recommendation will be made. Council members are invited to <br />attend. Fraser anticipates coming to next meeting with this recommenda- <br />tion to hire. <br />...Fraser - Job summary for Superintendent/Foreman of Maintenance <br />was handed out at beginning of tonight's meeting; has to be approved <br />before we hire someone. If anyone has any questions, call Whittaker. <br />...Mottaz moved that Mary Meyer be hired as Newsletter Editor upon <br />Mr. Whittaker's recommendation. Novak seconded; motion carried <br />(5 ayes). <br />ADMINISTRATORS REPORT <br />A. Special Council Meeting for budget review and to hire Foreman/ <br />Superintendent will be held Wednesday, August 19 at 1:00 p.m. <br />B. Councillors approved invite to Commissioner Art Schaefer, Jr. to <br />attend Council meeting regarding EMS, YSB and County Park. <br />C.
