CITY COUNCIL MEETING, NOVEMBER 17, 1981 -3- <br />St. Crna x Cab --+,Ambulance <br />Mr. Eastwood - the service area much the same as the existing <br />territory - Mr, Ritzer will have more ambulances - has heard <br />grievances about the present service from organizations in the <br />area - feels additional ambulances and ':service a bigger factor <br />than cost, <br />--Fraser - reluctant to go on record without more -conclusive <br />data indicating that there is an additional need for another_ <br />ambulance service <br />--Eder --- is there enough dollars to warrant going into this business. <br />--Mottaz - present service coming in asking for domAunity funding. <br />do not want two services coming in and asking the City to keep <br />two ambulance services going when one is having a hard time <br />financially, <br />--Whittaker - Oakdale Fire Department now owns an ambulance and <br />will be applying for ai,license because of the proximity the <br />City should look into Oakdale-- probably give quicker service, <br />--Steve Pott, LE Fire Department - Department of. Health will <br />not give Oakdale a license - Oakdale presently asking the LEFD <br />for support too many ambulance services in the area. <br />M/S/P Eder/Mottaz to take no -action -on the request from St, <br />Croix Cab for support -of -an ambulance service. <br />A. Shelter.Wor'k'ers - <br />Whittaker reporE3W_he interviewed six applicants for the position <br />of shelter worker at Lion's Park. He recommended hiring Jody Eder, <br />David Eder, Barry Weeks, and Kevin Ritzer. <br />M/S/P Mottaz/Fraser to hire Jody Eder, David Eder, Barry Weeks, <br />and Kevin Ritzer as Park Shelter Workers in Lion''s Park, per <br />the Administrator's recommendation, <br />7' OLD BUSINESS, <br />A. Schedule Infa'rmat onal.meeting - Public Access to Lake Demontrevill <br />An in-formaEion meeti_na,explainina the DNR plan a.nd landscape <br />design for the Demontreville Access, will be held December 2, 1981 <br />at 7:30 p.m, at the City Hall. A DNR representative will be <br />present to explain the plan,and�answer questions, Whittaker <br />will meet with the Tri-Lakes Board.on the plan, December 3. <br />The Council and interested residents reviewed the draft plan. <br />C, Park Access to D'emonikreville 'Park - <br />�_--g. <br />Whittaker oriefed._ the Counc3._-on'7the meeting with Roger Derrick, <br />the City Attorney, Mr, Jungman's attorney and himself, Mr. <br />Jungman will not agree to the shared easement, as proposed, <br />--Mottaz - City needs clear, unencumbered easement, the property <br />should be fenced and the path landscaped, <br />--Novak - anyone using the path would be in jeopardy, if the <br />area were not fenced where it is proposed to be shared, <br />--Mrs. Jungman - concerned about the children using the access, <br />use not compatible as a shared use - would like another easement <br />at another plaice, <br />Council agreed that a shared easement with the Jungman''s driveway <br />was not desireable. <br />
