PUBLIC HEARING - SHORELAND PERMIT AND VARIANCES - DEAN JOHNSTON:
Mayor Eder opened the public hearing at 7:13 p.m.
Mr. Johnston is requesting a Shoreland Permit with variances to
construct a 1 bedroom home on Lot 5, J. L. Cohn Subdivision.
Comments:
Eder - when a permit was granted earlier this year for some shore -
land changes, discussion suggested that this was an unbuildable
lot and this possibility- was acknowledged by Mr. Johnston.
Johnston - not present at that time, understood that any lot that
needed a variance was an unbuildable lot until a variance was granted.
--Mottaz - concened with the fact that thrre is no room for a septic
system.
--Johnston - structure, as proposed, is a one bedroom house. Minimun
drainfield requirement for any.structure is that for a two bedroom
house. The drainfield area indicated on the plat contains sufficient
area for a drainfield and an alternate drainfield site.for a one
bedroom house. The proposal before the Council is designed for a
three bedroom house - felt this would be a safer system to use
the primary drainfield and alternate site area initially with the
idea it would last longer and have a higher probability of success.
