LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MEETING, AUGUST 2, 1983 -7- <br />9. ENGINEER'S REPORT: <br />D. LAWCON Pebble Park - <br />Council Comments - <br />--Mazzara - suggested combining the Little League and Softball <br />fields - could save $17,000. Does not believe there will be <br />a demand for both fields <br />--Fraser - recommended cutting, if deemed necessary or desirable, <br />after grant is approved. <br />--Morgan - Park Commission felt that by encouraging more <br />activity in Pebble, via two fields, vandalism to the park <br />would be cut down. <br />M/S/P Morgan/Fraser to accept the Engineer's cost estimates <br />for improvements to Pebble Park for application of LAWCON funds. <br />Motion carried 5-0. <br />M/S/P Morgan/Dunn to accept the revised _ <br />cost estimates for improvements to Pebble Park (Engineer's <br />estimate sheet 7-18-83, revised 8-2-83) and including them as a <br />part of the 5-year Capital Improvements Program for Parks for <br />grant application purposes. Carried 5-0. <br />E. "Jane Road N. - Feasibility Study - <br />Engineer Bohrer distributed the Feasibility Study, as <br />requested by the Council at the July 25 meeting. He reviewed <br />the location map and explained the proposed improvements. <br />He requested Council feedback on the "T" turn around and <br />reduced street width past the off -set cul-de-sac. In <br />response to a residents question on run-off, he explained <br />how the proposed design would alleviate an existing erosion <br />and run-off problem. <br />M/S/P Mazzara/Fraser to adopt R-83-5.1, a Resolution accepting <br />the proposed Jane Road North Improvements Feasibility Report. <br />and ordering a public hearing of the feasibility of the project <br />for August 16, 1983, at 7.30 p.m. Carried 5-0. <br />F. Jamaca Ct. N. Improvement - Plans and Specs. - <br />Engineer Bohrer presented the location and improvement plan <br />for Jamaca Ct. N. He explained the preliminary work that <br />will be done before the overlay is put down, fie recommended <br />bids be opened August 23 at 10:00 a.m. Bids should be let <br />for September construction, with an October 1 completion date. <br />M/S/P Mazzara/Fraser to adopt R-83-52, a Resolution accepting the <br />plans and specs for Jamaca Court North improvements and ordering <br />the City Engineer to take bids. Carried 5-0. <br />G. Reid Park - <br />Engineer Bohrer presented the trail changes recommended by <br />the Park Commission and identified on a revised map. The <br />clear trails will not be included in the bid contract, but <br />will be included in the LAWCON application at a reduced <br />- trail width. <br />M/S/P Fraser/Morgan to accept the Reid Park trail changes as <br />recommended by the Park Commission. Carried 5-0. <br />
