a <br />R-S 3-6'7 <br />RESOLUTION <br />CITY OF LAKE ELMO <br />WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING RAMSEY/WASHINGTON COUNTY <br />TO CONTINUE WORKING TOWARDS AND TO TAKE ACTION <br />FOR A SOLUTION TO THE DRINKING WATER SUPPLY PROBLEM <br />OF THE LAKE ELMO RESIDENTS SURROUNDING CONTAMINATED <br />RAMSEY/WASHINGTON COUNTY LANDFILL #1 SITE <br />WHEREAS, the Homeowners for Eliminating Landfill. <br />Pollution (HELP) organization has petitioned Washington County for <br />a public water, supply system, and, <br />WHEREAS, HELP has requested assistance from the City <br />in achieving a quick solution to their safe drinking water supply <br />problems, and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo is very concerned about <br />the safe drinking water supply of its residents near the <br />contaminated Ramsey/Washington County Landfill #1 site, and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo has determined that the <br />( w problems related. to the contaminated Ramsey/Washington County <br />Landfill #1 are not the responsibility of the City of Lake Elmo, <br />and, ' <br />WHEREAS, the City of Lake Elmo does not have the <br />resources to study the drinking water supply problem and possible <br />solutions, and the City of Lake Elmo believes that this is a <br />responsibility of the two Counties, and, <br />WHEREAS, there appear to be many possible solutions to <br />the safe drinking water supply problem for the residents around <br />the landfill area, and all of these possible solutions deserves <br />careful study and consideration by the two Counties, and, <br />WHEREAS, officials from the City of Lake Elmo and the <br />City of Oakdale have met to discuss issues and problems of common <br />concern, and, <br />WHEREAS, one of the major problems/issues discussed by <br />these city officials was a safe supply of'drinking water for the <br />residents in Lake Elmo around the landfill site, and, <br />
