Agenda Memo for 1-3-8t1 City Council. Meeting; page, 3
C. Designation of Legal Newspaper: Our existing City
ewsplF apex is t e Washington.County Review. We have also
received requests from the Washington County Bulletin
and the St. Croix Valley Press to be considered as our
official legal newspaper.
In review of the minutes from last year, this item also
received discussion and was tabled to a later meeting.
The end result was that the Washington County Review was
again designated as our legal paper, and the staff
recommends designation of the Washington County Review
as our legal newspaper for 1984. This paper seems to
give us the best news coverage of any in the area and we
have not experienced any problems with publications of
legal notices.
D. Appointment of Consultants: The City staff has been
pleased wit the per ormances of our current City Consu-
ltants, City Engineer, Larry Bohrer; City Attorney, Ray
Marshall; and City Planner, Rob Chelseth, and recommends
reappointment for 1984.
Thee;*''r«"individuals provide the staff with valuable
information and have insite as to how the community has
operated in the past. Appointment of Council Committees The only committee I
am aware o s appoint that nee ments is the Capital
Improvement Committee which should consist of three
Council members, and Dave Wisdorf and myself as non-
voting members. This will be a very important committee
in 1984 and should start meeting in late January to
begin the important process of determining our Capital
Improvement needs for 1984.
If any other Council Committees need to be appointed,
this should be done at this time.
F. Appointment of Citizen Representatives to Community
Education Advisory -Bard of our current citizen
representatives have expressed their desire to be
reappointed to their respective districts. The staff
recommends reappointment of these individuals as
follows: District 834 - Kristine Moe; District 622 -
Ceri Swenson.
Q. Appointment of City Commissioners: In review of the
minutes from last year, it became apparent that this
item received a great deal. of discussion. Following is
