Agonda Mama for 1-3-811 City Council Moet,intr <br />Page 6 <br />I also expressed concern over this last "Whereas" to <br />Oakdale before they adopted the resolution (I had a <br />draft copy) but no changes were made. It was my <br />understanding that all of Oakdale's concerns were <br />included in our resolution, but this did not turn out to <br />be the case. <br />The County has recently passed its 5 Year Street CIP, <br />but we have not received this plan at this point. This <br />plan could help us determine if "Lake Elmo is willing to <br />relinquish designated CSAH funds". I have scheduled a <br />Tuesday meeting with Washington County Engineer, Chuck <br />Swanson, to discuss this 5 year plan and CSAH designated <br />streets. This should help me understand the "mechanics" <br />of CSAH improvements and what is possible as to <br />"relinquishing funds". : <br />The many reasons "for" and "against" passing this exact <br />resolution are difficult to put on paper. I will be <br />prepared to address this issue in as much detail as <br />required at the Council table. <br />B. OFFr,CE`'EQUIPMENT QUOTES: <br />1. FILE: <br />At the last <br />Council <br />meeting, the <br />Council <br />approved <br />ordering a fire -proof <br />file. We <br />somehow <br />overlooked <br />the second <br />recommendation <br />from <br />Larry <br />Whittaker <br />accepting the quote <br />for <br />a legal file. <br />I also <br />recommend <br />accepting this <br />quote <br />and ordering this <br />much <br />needed file: <br />One <br />(1) four. -drawer, <br />legal., <br />lateral. file <br />(for <br />general office) <br />from S <br />& T Office <br />Products <br />at $535.00. <br />2. • MICROPHONES: At the last Council meeting, the <br />Council had a presentation for a microphone system. The <br />staff subsequently had another system demonstrated the <br />following week. I was very impressed with this second <br />demonstration from AEI, Inc., and feel this system will <br />greatly improve the sound in the Council Chamber. The <br />quote from AEI of $2751.00 is attached. If the Council <br />desires a sound system, I recommend accepting this quote <br />from AEI. <br />C. BUILDING INSPECTOR'S CONTRACT: At the request of the <br />City of Mahtomedi, Lake Elmo approved the Building <br />Official's contract which was identical to the previous <br />contract with the exception of the vehicle clause. <br />Subsequently, Mahtomedi decided to go back to the old <br />method of vehicle reimbursement of twenty-eight cents <br />per mile. The Administrator cannot always predict the <br />decision of his or her City Council, and this was the <br />case in Mahtomedi. Please see the attached letter. I <br />expect a signed copy of the Mahtomedi adopted contract <br />
