MEMO <br />TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: PAT KLAERS, CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />SUBJECT: INFORMATION MATERIAL FOR THE 2-21-84 COUNCIL MEETING <br />DATE: FEBRUARY 15, 1984 <br />1. Attached is the most recent City Newsletter , dated 2/14/84, <br />describing Council action at its February 7th meeting, and general <br />City activities. <br />2. The January, 1984, Law Enforcement Report from the Washington <br />County Sheriff's Department is attached. <br />3. An informational meeting is scheduled for Monday, 2/27/84, in the <br />Council Chambers to inform the public and local organizations/groups <br />about the Lake Elmo Fire Department This is planned to take place <br />from 7:00 to F.00 p.m. This is the date of the Planning Commission <br />meeting, but no Planning Commission meeting will follow as about <br />one-half of the members will be out of town and no quorum can be <br />achieved. <br />Fire Chief, Fran Pott, has discussed this with Council Member, Laura <br />Fraser; and they have determined a format for this meeting. Fran will <br />be at our 2/21 Council meeting to present the Fire Department's Annual <br />Report. We may want to give this 2/27 informational meeting a few <br />minutes of discussion after the annual report. <br />4. The most recent Cable TV Newsletter from our Ramsey/Washington <br />County Cable Commission is attached. <br />5. Attached is an article on waste -to -energy plants that appeared <br />in the 2/12/84 St. Paul Sunday Pioneer Press. This article includes a <br />discussion on the Lake Elmo proposed plant. <br />6. At the last Council meeting, Larry Bohrer indicated that the final <br />stages of the I-94 plans from Mn/DOT are completed. Larry further <br />indicated that Mn DOT would be available for a presentation to the <br />Council. We have placed Mn/DOT on the 3-6-84 agenda, later in the <br />evening, as they have a conflict and cannot attend this 2-21-84 <br />meeting. <br />
