INFORMATIONAL MATERIAL FOR THE 2-21-84 COUNCIL MEETING Page 2 7. Attached is a notice from VBWD indicating that two of our members terms on the CAC have expired. The VBWD plans on reappointing these individuals unless they hear otherwise from Lake Elmo. I have ---------- ----- discussedsed this with Dick Murxary and -he -indicated -that -both -Mr .-- Taylor -- and Mr. Williams are very active in this citizens advisory committee. I have tried to contact both Mr. Taylor and Mr. Williams to determine their intentions for serving on this committee, but have not reached them. I expect to have some communication with both of the representatives before the Council meeting, and expect both ofthem to desire reappointment. If they do not desire reappointment, or the Council wants to appoint other representatives, this item will be added to the agenda. However, if both individuals desire reappointment, and the Council raises no concerns about these individuals, then I will simply send a letter to VBWD indicating our City "s'approval of these two representatives being reappointed. 8. Since the beginning of the year, the City has been somewhat shorthanded. Both secretarys have taken two -week vacations, at separate times; Dave--Wisdbrf -has m-i'ssed- some wbrkdays -becaus:e of a serious illness and cancer operation on his wife; and Finance Director, Marilyn Banister, has been out the last two weeks because of serious back problems. The staff has been able to get its work done, mainly because of the versatility between Kathy and Mary, and because of the competent staff Dave has working for him. However, Marilyn's absence may present us with some time delays in our financial i auditing. She has been in a few hours each week to assist us in the claims and payment of the bills, but her services have been fairly limited and this may continue for an indefinite period of time. We are very concerned about Marilyn's welfare, but the staffs work and responsibilities have not suffered to date. I simply want to make you aware of these situations and to notify you that there may be a short delay in obtaining financial data and records., when we receive these types of requests.
