MEMO <br />TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL MEMBERS <br />FROM: PAT KLAERS, CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />SUBJECT: INFORMATIONAL MATERIAL FOR THE 2-7-84 COUNCIL MEETING <br />DATE: FEBRUARY 1, 1984 <br />Be advised that Dave Morgan will not attend the 2-7-84 City Council <br />Meeting because he is in Europe for a couple of weeks. <br />MINUTES <br />Attached are the draft Planning Commission minutes from its 1-23-84 <br />meeting; and the draft Park Commission minutes from its 1-16-84 <br />meeting. <br />OTHER INFORMATION <br />1. Attached is the most recent City Newsletter dated 1-24-84 which <br />includes major articles on the landfill update by Mike Ayers; and the <br />509 Plan. <br />2. I would like to provide you with two brief notes that related to <br />agenda items: (a) We are still waiting for information from the Met. <br />Council and other agencies relating to the Woodbury racetrack site. <br />This item is on the agenda for the 2-7-84 meet ng;__ u un ess- is <br />information is received between now and the City Council meeting, this <br />item should again be tabled. (b) Since all of the Council members <br />will not be present- at this 2-7-84 meeting, Oakdale's request for <br />assistance in obtaining improvements on 50th S r ee wi e to e <br />uri iT ihe 2-2 ouricil mee I e ayor-, y Engineer and <br />myself have met with Oakdale's Mayor, City Engineer and Administrator <br />plus the County Engineer to discuss transportation needs in the area. <br />Attached is Larry Bohrer's report summarizing this meeting. This <br />report will again be copied for you when this item comes to the <br />Council table on 2-21-84. The majority of the items discussed seemed <br />logical, reasonable and beneficial to both communities. The summary <br />from Larry Bohrer is very good, but this issue will still need a great <br />deal of discussion and explanation at the 2-21-84 meeting. <br />3. For your information, an attorney for Castle Design, Mr. Kelley, <br />has made a number of requests the past few mon s or City Code <br />material relating to shoreland permits, variances, setbacks, etc. I <br />think it is reasonable to assume that we will be seeing more from <br />Castle Design in the future. <br />4. Wish to acknowledge that the City issued a 3.2 beer license to the <br />Lions Club for its 1-29-84 fishing contest held at Lake Elmo. <br />Evidently, the Lions Club had an oversite and forgot to formally <br />
