Attached is a letter from a resident thanking us for our cooperation in responding to the snow problem she experienced. However, the City did receive a number of complaints on snow plowing, but these did not exceed the ususal number of complaints from years past" Some of the complaints were on the timeliness of the snow removal while other related to the need for sanding. I believe we should examine and review the snow plowing schedule and policy next year in order to try eliminating some of the complaints in the Tri-Lakes area. The complaints relating to sanding are more difficult to address as sanding is clearly a secondary priority and the crew gets to this activity as soon as possible after the snow is removed from the streets" This is generally true regarding the sanding operation unless unique conditions merit immediate response. I would like to indicate that in a typical winter we receive approximately 42" of snow" In each of the last three winters we have received an average of 86'/ of snow" Considering this level of snow fall the past three years, the complaints about services decreasing in quality do not apppear valid" In winters before Dave came to Lake Elmo, the conditions are not comparable to the last three years. This enormous amount of snow has provided Dave Wisdorf with a quick learning experience in snow removal. Considering the overall conditions and the relatively few complaints that we have received, I firmly believe Dave Wisdorf and his entire crew did a good job of snow removal this year. Under a "typical" year for snow fall, I'm sure that snow removal operations will be excellent"
