CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT COMMITTEE Meeting at 6:40 p.m. on 4-17--84 (before regular Council meeting). Members: Mayor Eder; Councillors Dunn and Morgan; Administrator Klaers; and Maintenance Forman, Wisdorf. BACKGROUND INFORMATION I would like to have a brief meeting of the Capital Improvement Program for about fifteen minutes before our regular City Council meeting on April 17th. The two items I would Like to address at this meeting are (1) review of alternatives for a tractor per report .from Dave Wisdorf, and (2) review the rest of the 1.9811 CIP needs. 1. The City Staff was previously instructed to purchase a used tractor for approximately $2700 from Mogren Brothers. Upon further examination of this tractor, it was determined that this unit could not be purchased for the estimated price that was discussed by the committee. Therefore, Dave has reviewed three other possible tractors that could be purchased .for the estimated price of $2700. Dave further explored a new tractor, but found the price to be prohibitively high. The benefits of a new tractor would not outweigh the cost efficiency of a used tractor. Attached is a report from Dave on the three tractors he examined. I would like the CIP Committee to review this item before 1.t is presented to the entire City Council Later in the evening. 2. I also would like the CIP Committee to review the remaining part of the 19811 CIP. I believe that there are no additional items that need to be purchased this year. After review of the three separate documents (Park, Fire and General Maintenance), I feel that it is appropriate to consolidate these three separate documents into one comprehensive document. I want to make the Committee aware of my intentions so that when this CIP document gets presented during the budget session, that no one is surpised. I am not planning any changes in the program - - I just want to add additional background information regarding financing and procedures for purchasing needed items.
