Planning Commission Report: <br />Consensus of the Council was to review the minutes of the Planning <br />Commission's meeting of 4-9-84 before acting on the 1-112 acre lot <br />size requirements in business and residential zones. (This item will <br />return to the Council table after review of the minutes). <br />G. Tom Palecek - Septage Pumping Rates <br />Tom Palecek, owner of Pinky's Croixland Sewer Service appeared before <br />the City Council to inform them about new MWCC rates and regulations <br />regarding the disposal of septage. The new MWCC rates will be based <br />upon the strength of the septage and will require a much greater haul <br />distance for disposal in a MWCC approved facility. Mr. Paleck is <br />concerned that with the septage disposal rates increasing 8 to 10 <br />fold, people will be reluctant to properly maintain their system. <br />They will let the interval between pumping go longer or try to pump <br />out the systems themselves. The net effect will be the increased <br />sewage pumping charges will actually defeat the purpose of providing <br />adequate septage treatment and prevention of pollution.
