Informational Material for March <br />Page 4 <br />10" I have recently come to the understanding that there has <br />been a deficiency in the quality of @MbU1g0qg IlEyigg in and <br />around Lake Elmo" Other communities also have this <br />understanding" In an effort to improve ambulance service, <br />Lakeview Memorial Hospital, in Stillwater, is attempting to <br />begin operating an ambulance service" A presentation on the <br />proposal, by Lakeview Memorial Hospital representative Mike <br />Castelluccio, will be on the April 3/ 1984, City Council <br />Agenda at 7:10 p.m., <br />This proposal has letters of support from many of the <br />communities and is seeking support from all of the <br />communties in Washington County. They are confident of the <br />need for an additional ambulance service option for area <br />communities and feel that all the communities will support <br />the proposal" <br />Questions regarding this proposal should be directed to <br />Mayor Eder. The Mayor has some of the more nitty-gritty <br />details on this proposal and may be able to answer some of <br />your questions before the City Council meeting. <br />11. Attached is the recent St. Paul Pioneer Press article on the <br />growth of the Igggad [ing pUbgQ1. Lake Elmo is not one of <br />the fastest growing communities, but our population is still <br />projected at 6400 by the year 1990" <br />| l2" As previously indicated, the City is in the process of being <br />` sued by Caltlo DoMiga^ Attached for your information is the <br />summons by Castle Design to Lake Elmo and a response by our <br />City Attorney, Ray Marshall" We are keeping you informed <br />immediately as developments take place on this case" <br />This material is only being distributed to the City Council <br />because of the pending court case" If the press has any <br />questions regarding this case, they should contact the City <br />Attorney, Ray Marshall; but, you should be advised that he <br />will he protecting his client/attorney relationship. At <br />this point, all the details are not public from the City`s <br />prospective" <br />13" According to the adopted City Personnel Policy the <br />UUgbRtig[lacY ggLigd for new employees is six months" <br />Attatched is a letter of recommendation for retaining Kathy <br />Crombie and Mary Kueffner" No Council action is needed <br />unless you disagree with my recommendation" As indicated in <br />my letter, both employees are excellent in dealing with the <br />public and are quickly learning the government operation in <br />Lake Elmo. I am pleased to be associated with such fine <br />workers" <br />
