LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JUNE 20, 1.989 PAGE 9 ` M/S/P Graves/Williams - resolved that the Council hereby approves the First Amendment to the Joint Powers Agreement to Protect and Manage the Cottage Grove Ravine Watershed. (Motion carried 4-0). C. Award of Bid: Acoustical Panels, Council Chambers Two bids, Action Acoustics and Acoustics Associates, Inc., were received for acoustical panels for the Council Chambers. The Building Fund currently has a balance of $5,188. Mayor Dunn had talked to Scott Gallop, Acoustics Associates, who advised her the panels would be custom made versus off the shelf and placed solidly on the back wall and north wall. Panelling the walls could be done in stages. They also talked about a different lighting system. If there isn't a significant difference in quality between the bids, Councilman Williams stated we should go with the lower bid. Councilman Graves preferred Acoustics Associates based on a higher quality job due to the attention to detail in the sense of thoroughness of his bid. He felt the appearance would have a more complete, professional finish if the entire wall surface area between the chair rail and the top rail was covered. M/S/P Graves/Hunt - resolved that Acoustics Associates of 1250 Zane Avenue N., Mpls, MN 55422, is hereby awarded the bid in the amount of $4,420 for installation of acoustical panels in the City Hall Council Chambers. (Motion carried 4-0). D. Appointment to Airport Advisory Committee At their May 2nd meeting, the Council appoiinted Al Kupferschmidt as the City's representative to the Regional Reliever Airport Study Advisory Group. Mr. Kupferschmidt had contacted the Mayor and advised her he was interested, but it would be difficult for him to attend the meeting time scheduled. Mr. Dennis Conlin, 8560 Ironwood Trail called and sent a. letter expressing interest in serving in this volunteer capacity. M/S/P Graves/Williams - resolved that Dennis Conlin, 8560 Ironwood Trail., is hereby designated as the City of Lake Elmo representative to the Regional Reliever Airport Study Advisory Group and Council requests Dennis Conlin submit a report to them at conclusion of the study. (Motion carried 4-0). E. Planning Commission Request: The Forest The Planning Commission, at their meeting of June 12th, after discussion and consideration of thecity Engineer's report on the Forest,determinedit appropriate to request Counci'lapproval for attendance of the City Engneer at the next PZ meeting.
