LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL. MINUTES OCT'OBER 17, 1989 PAGE 7 <br />from the Lake Elmo Fire Dept. effective October 1, 1989. Jerome has been <br />l a dedicated individual and has done a superb job for the community. The <br />Council suggested a commendation from the Council be read to Mr. Eder at <br />the Fire Dept's meeting on October 24th. <br />M/S/P Moe/Williams - to direct the Administrator tp work with the Mayor on <br />commendation verbage for Jerome Eder for presentation by the Mayor at the <br />Fire Dept's October 24th meeting. (Motion carried 4-0). <br />Deputy Clerk Mary Kueffner has requested approval for her attendance at <br />four seminars (approx $2.00) held at the Government Training Service <br />Center. The Council gave their approval and indicated there was money in <br />the budget for such training. <br />Mayor Dunn informed the Council of a letter she received from Amy Novak, <br />852.0 Irowood Trail N., stating her concerns with the proposed landfill in <br />the Lake Elmo Park Reserve. The City Administrator will send Amy Novak a <br />thank you letter. <br />Councilman Williams re y d letter from Attorney Ellen Sampson who <br />enclosed a suggested e� ei to be sent to our Federal <br />representatives. Sampson would like to meet with City representatives to <br />discuss strategy, which Williams was very much in favor of. He will be <br />getting back to Ms. Sampson and coordinate a time with the City <br />Administrator for such a meeting. <br />Jack Marty, Trail Boss, and Diane Holman, Co -Trail Boss, presented an <br />informational slide show on the 1989 Camp Courage Wagon Train. Another <br />journey by wagon train is being planned for June, 1990 to raise money for <br />Camp Courage. They are asking the City for a spokeperson, someone they <br />can contact if needed, and for the Fire Dept. to bring in water to fill <br />the tanks for the horses on Friday night at the Washington County <br />Fairgrounds. The Council expressed the City would help, wh.ereever <br />possible, to make this another successful year. <br />M/S/P Moe/Hunt - to adjourn the City Council meeting at 9:35 p.m. (Motion <br />carried 4-0). <br />
