December 27, 1989
Lake Elmo City Council
3800 Laverne Avenue N.
Lake Elmo, MN 55042
Honorable Mayor and Council Members:
We, the undersigned concerned citizens of Lake Elmo, do hereby
respectfully request a full and thorough explanation of the
reasons for the forced resignation of the Lake Elmo City
Administrator, Patricia Morrison, on December 19, 1989.
It is our understanding that Ms. Morrison was advised to
resign or be fired; and further, that this statement was made
by certain council members without formal motion by the
Council as a whole. We are concerned that these actions may
have been taken as a result of personal prejudices and not
based on malfeasance, poor administrative performance, or any
other misconduct in the performance of her duties as City
Administrator. We are surprised that this drastic action was
necessary in view of what we consider to be professional and
exemplary performance on the part of Ms. Morrison.
We therefore request a documented list of performance
shortcomings, misconduct, errors in judgment, or any other
reasons why the Council felt that it was necessary to remove
Ms. Morrison as City Administrator of Lake Elmo.
JrO C/-
se/D rp 7 /W -s T e- -t/,
j 3
4r Jla
