CITY COUNCIL REPORTS: <br />Joint Meeting with Planning Commission in March: <br />Councilman Williams would like to see as many as 5 or 6 joint meetings <br />in order to increase communication between the Council and the <br />Commission. <br />State of Pollution Control. Agency has a public hearing, February 1, <br />1990, on revision of MN Rules Chapter 7050 related to water quality <br />standards and use classifications. A copy was handed out to the City <br />Engineer for his comments. <br />Everyone is invited to the Presentation on Property and Income Tax on <br />January 17th at 7:30 at Afton. <br />Mayor Dunn directed the staff to respond to a letter from Northwestern <br />Railroad thanking us for co-operation in helping with maintenance in <br />the winter months. <br />Mayor Dunn talked to Jack Perkovich, Washington County about <br />architectural standards in the General Business Zone and asked the <br />staff to respond to him. <br />Madson vs. City of Lake Elmo: The plaintiff has withdrawn suit file <br />#CXB6-4193. Mayor Dunn indicated. the City has spent thousands of <br />dollars to fight this nonsensical suit. The tax benefit for the 21.26 <br />acre area was a total (state, county, city, etc.) tax of $6.23/year or <br />29 cents/acre. Dunn stated she certainly hoped this pettyness has <br />ended. <br />10. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: <br />City Attorney Knaa-k presented the Council with the Pending Litigation <br />Report. <br />ll. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />There were no reports. <br />12. OTHER: <br />Councilman Graves felt it was appropriate, as it has been done in the <br />past, resolutions thanking volunteers (Al Kunde, Dave Johnson, Dean <br />Johnston, etc.) and Council member (Don Moe) for their years of <br />service in the city be given out at the Holiday Party. <br />M/S/P Graves/Hunt - to adopt Resolutions 90-2 thru 90-5 thanking <br />volunteers and Council member for their years of service in the City. <br />(Motion carried 4-0). <br />Councilman Williams expressed his interest in having the Personnel <br />Committee, once they are appointed, as their top priority, proposed <br />financial compensation for the Acting City Administrator as soon as <br />possible. <br />
