RESOLUTION 90- 1 A RESOLUTION CONTROLLING LAKE USE AND TRAFFIC ON LAKE ELMO, CONTROLLING PARKING ON COUNTY ROAD 17 AND RESIDENTIAL STREETS ABUTTING LAKE ELMO, AND ALLOWING THE OLYMPIC COMMMITTEE TO SET UP AN ADMINISTRATIVE TRAILER ON KLONDIKE AVENUE WHEREAS, the U.S. Olympic Festival will be held in the Twin Cities from July 6 thru July 15, 1990; and WHEREAS, Lake Elmo/s namesake lake has been choosen as the site for the Canoe/Kayak-Sprint and Rowing Competition; WHEREAS, Lake Elmo fully supports the efforts of the U.S. Olympic Festival and welcomes the opportunity to be a host city to this event. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL THAT: 1. During the Rowing, Canoe/Kayak-Sprint training activites on Lake Elmo, boat traffic will be restricted to "no -wake" speed. These dates and times are as follows: Canoe/Kayak-Spring July 5 and July 6 - 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 5 - 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Rowing July 10 and July 11 - 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. July 10 and July it - 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 12 - 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. July 12 - 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. 2. During the Rowing .Canoe/Kayak-Sprint Competition on Lake Elmo, no boat traffic will be allowed. These dates and times are as follows: Canoe/Kayak-Sprint July 7 8 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. July 8 8 a.m. to 11:15 p.m. 4 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. Rowing July 13 6:30 a.m to 10:45 a.m. July 14 6:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. July 15 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. 2. Parking on County Road 17 will be posted as no parking during the Olympic Festival. Residential streets in close proximity to Lake Elmo will be posted no parking, based on need, during the Olympic Festival. This will be done to protect the property and privacy of the City's residents, and to prevent spectators from parking along city streets and entering the Park from the north 1 end. 3. The Olympic Committee will park an administrative trailer at the end of Klondike Avenue that adjoins the Lake Elmo Regional Park.
