It was founded in 1967 with two goals in
mind. 1) It sought to.provide help to individuals in areas where
there were no existing programs. The Transportation Program, which
provides rides to those without cars or who can't drive, is a
good example of this, and 2) CVS sought to encourage and support
volunteerism as a means towards bettering the communities we live
in. Towards these ends, CVS developed a whole array of services
and programs that are recognized as being valuable to the citizens
in Washington County. Some of these are:
*Holiday Bureau
*Transportation Program
*Tax Help
*Senior Center
*In -Home Assistance
*Senior Companions
*Telecare
*Off Again On Again Shop
*The Washington County Volunteer Center
Last year, CVS directed the time, energy and skills of 313
volunteers into our communities with impressive results. In
1989, CVS volunteers helped over 10,000 individuals by
volunteering 15,537 hours.
1WA Volunteer Center
RECEIVING SUPPORT FROM
THE ST. CROIX AREA UNITED WAY One
