AUG 10 '90 13;39.T.K.D.H.& ASSOC.
Yianrntng and 'zoning uotnmission
August 10,1990
Page 2
P.3
4. Storm Water Control: Ponding and other drainage features have been provided north of
the new parking lot which meets the requirements of the Storm Water Control Ordinance
for rate and volume control of the additional hard surfacing.
One area of concentrated runoff may be the roof scupper on the northwest side of the new
sanctuary. The new landscaped area beneath the scupper should be adequately protected
from erosion.
S. Water System: The existing well will continue to be used.
6. Sgnpdc System The existing septic system will continue to be used. This system was
constructed in about 1963 when the education building was built. it was originally sized
for the parochial school which was operated at that time. The existing system seems to
be sized adequately for the new facility since the school is no longer operating. The
existing separate system which serves the rectory will be removed and connected to the
existing larger school system.
There does not seem to be any operational problems with the system. Portions of the
drainfield seem to have been paved over but it is difficult to evaluate what effect, if any,
that has had on the system. The church has sufficient vacant land to the north that if the
existing system should fail, an alternate system could be constructed.
The church is within the Metropolitan Urban Service Area and could be served at some
time with sanitary sewer and municipal water.
Conclusions: The issues of parking space size and building height remain.
Attached are copies of previous correspondence from the project architects for your information.
Sincerely,
Larry D. Bohrer, P.E.
LDB/tnha
Attachments
