Solid Waste Advisory <br />Councilman Johnson reported the Solid Waste Advisory Committee is <br />working on a proposed request for proposal for mandatory collection. <br />The reason they are looking at one hauler, mandatory collection, is to <br />make recycling a part of trash collection so the City can get the <br />participation rate up and make this city recycling conscience. When <br />the request for proposal of services is complete, it will come before <br />the Council. <br />10. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />A. Acree, etal petition <br />The Council accepted the report from Washington County. Councilman <br />Hunt will discuss this report with the appropriate residents that have <br />expressed concerns. Hunt will bring back their comments to the <br />February 5th Council meeting for further discussion. <br />B. Letter from Press Publications <br />The City received a letter from Gene Johnson, publisher of Press <br />Publications relative to the concerns raised by the Council at its <br />January 2nd meeting. The Council asked this to be an agenda item for <br />the next Council meeting. <br />C. Conference for Newly Elected Officials <br />Mayor Johnson and Councilmen Johnson and Mottaz indicated a desire to <br />attend the conference for newly elected officials held on Saturday, <br />February 2, 1991. The staff will mail out the three applications. <br />D. Letter from Springsted <br />The City received a proposed contract, from Kathleen Aho, Senior Vice <br />President, Springsted. Inc. She noted the major difference is in the <br />fee schedule. At $500,000 and under the Springsted schedule is less <br />by $300. For larger issues the Springsted schedule is higher. The <br />other contract conditions are very similar. <br />M/S/P Dick Johnson/Williams - to approve the Springsted, Agreement for <br />financial advisory services and direct the City Administrator to sign <br />said contract. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />E. Property Tax Information Program <br />Scott Renne, County Assessor, sent a memo to the City indicating for <br />the past two years he has met with the Council to inform them of <br />legislative changes, as well as administrative changes that might be <br />occurring within their office and to prepare them for the Local Board <br />of Review. The Council set this meeting up for February 5th. <br />
