Since that time, these two areas have
been heated with 2 plug-in electric.heaters.
The maintenance department got.three bids for a 90% efficient gas
furnance. This has extra capacity to cover any future expansion at
the site. (There are plans on file that show expansion to•include
an office and lunchroom at some point in time).
Regardless of whether we ever expand the site, I feel we should provide
a cost-effective means of providing heat to the areas.
The bids received are:
Apollo Heating - $2895.00
Hoffman Heating - $3050.00
Schwantes Heating - $2807.00 .
Staff, therefore, recommends that the bid be awarded to the low bidder -
There is money in the 1991 Equipment, Parts & Repairs budget, and our
finance director suggests taking the money from there, or from the
public works reserve budget.
