The people he talks to want to have large lots and <br />based on the RE developments coming into the city, there seems to <br />be a healthy market for such lots. <br />B. Councilman Hunt -No report. <br />C. Councilman Johnson <br />Councilman Johnson gave an update on the Maintenance Advisory <br />Committee which met and selected Jim Palecek as Chairman. At the <br />next meeting, which date has not been set, the committee will tour <br />all of the city facilites would like to discuss the purchase of <br />the truck for the Parks Dept. <br />D. Councilman Mottaz - Town Meeting <br />Councilman Mottaz suggested establishing a quarterly town meeting <br />in Lake Elmo. The purpose of the town meeting is to provide an <br />open forum for the citizens of Lake Elmo to question City Council <br />members, to offer suggestions, to register complaints, and in <br />general engage in open discussion concerning the present and the <br />future of Lake Elmo. <br />The meeting will be held on the third 'Wednesday of the third month <br />of each quarter of the year (subject to change within the third <br />month to accommodate for serious conflicts). The meeting shall <br />begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. and will be held outside <br />of City Hall and shall be attended by the City Council members, <br />the City Administrator and the Code Enforcement Officer. <br />The meeting will be called to order at 7:00 p.m. by the City <br />Administrator who will then preside at the selection of a <br />moderator. Thereafter, the moderator will have charge of the <br />meeting. City council members and their family and City <br />commission and city committee members and their families will not <br />be eligible to serve as a moderator. The agenda shall be open and <br />the format informal. <br />The meetings shall be announced in advance as required by law. <br />Announcements and advertisements may suggest topics for <br />discussion. The first meeting will be on June 19, 1991. <br />M/S/P Mottaz/Hunt - to start quarterly town meetings to be held <br />the third Wednesday, third month of each quarter at 7:00 p.m. held <br />outside of City Hall as defined in Councilman Mottaz's proposal. <br />The first town meeting will be held June 19, 1991 at a location to <br />be announced in advance as required by law. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />E. Councilman Williams - Cost Control Board <br />In view of the tax revenue problems we will be faced with, <br />Councilman Williams would like to institute the Cost Control <br />Board. The Council set up a workshop for Tuesday, May 28, 1991 at <br />7:00 p.m. at City Hall. <br />
