APR 4 1991
Mary Kueffners
City of Lake Elmo
380 Laverne Ave. N
Lake Elmo, MN 55042
Dear Ms Kueffners,
April 2,1991
I am a resident of Lake Elmo and would like to request that the City
looks into the sign ordnance Section 505 on Rual/Residential property.
I have been happy with the efforts the city has put into long range
planning of our community, this has helped maintained our rual atmosphere.
In keeping with the long range goals, I would like to recommend that
signs be allowed for selling of seasonal goods.
By allowing property owners to sell goods grown on their land would
help cover the rising property taxes, thus assuring our community
keeps the rual setting. Items grown on the land such as strawberrys,
sweet corn, pumkins, and trees only add to our rual atmosphere.
The new ordnance could be written in such a way to allow the signs to be
posted for a maxium time period of two months, and would restrict the
size and type (no back —lighting) of the sign.
Please consider my request and if you need anything further, in the way
of help or information, please call me at 436-6445.
Regar s, %/
i
ichael W.
