LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JUNE 1, 1993 2 <br />B. Lake Elmo Jaycees Proclamation:1993 Huff'n Puff Days <br />Mayor John proclaimed Huff n' Puff Days on August 12-15, <br />1993 as the official city celebration for 1993. <br />The Jaycees requested the cities waive the field light <br />charge at Lions Park and the liquor license fee for Huff <br />n'Puff Days. <br />M/S/C Mottaz/Johnson - to waive the field light charge for <br />Lions Park from August 12-15, 1993 and to waive the fee for <br />the liquor license for Huff'n Puff days. (Motion carried 5- <br />0.) <br />C. Derrick Lots (Residents in area & Update) <br />The Council received a letter from City Engineer Larry <br />Bohrer, dated May 27, 1993, reporting the 1993 water level <br />testing has been completed on Lots 2-4, Block 2, <br />Demontreville Highlands 3rd Addition A tabulation of water <br />level readings was provided. Although there has been a <br />general lowering of the water levels from previous year's <br />observations, the lots still do not pass the requirement of <br />the code. <br />The council received a letter, dated May 24, 1993 from <br />concerned homeowners in the 3rd Addition of Demontreville <br />Highlands indicating their concern of the health and safety <br />of the residents living in the area. Gary Bance, spokesman <br />for the homeowners, indicated the added fill is unacceptable <br />and a detailed study has to be done on the construction of <br />the mounds. He felt these lots would be beneficial as a <br />park. <br />M/S/C Mottaz/John - to refer this item to the Parks <br />Commission to consider if this would make a reasonable <br />addition to the Lake Elmo Parks system. (Motion carried 5- <br />0.) <br />Suzanne Haugen, 5770 Hytrail Avenue, pointed out that there <br />is bad visibility at the intersection because of the height <br />of the weeds and the mounds. <br />M/S/C Mottaz/Johnston - to instruct the city administrator <br />to have the weed inspector take whatever action to remedy <br />the visibility situation. (Motion carried 5-0.) <br />D. John Nicholson, 8975 15th Street, regarding <br />accessory structure <br />M/S/C Mottaz/Conlin - that the city council should not <br />discuss this matter, but refer this matter to the code <br />enforcement officer, with the aid of the city attorney, for <br />resolution. (Motion carried 5-0.) <br />
