LADE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES SEPTEMBER 21, 1993 <br />D. Olson Lake Estates Pond Update <br />There will be a meeting at the DNR headquarters on September 30, 1993 at 9:30 a.m. <br />with the DNR, VBWD, and the cities of Oakdale and Lake Elmo. <br />M/S/C John/Johnston - to instruct the city engineer to obtain samples of water from <br />Olson Lake and Olson Lake Estates Pond to perform normal water quality <br />assessments. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />Jerry Filla provided a report on Discharge to Olson Lake, dated September 21, 1993, <br />indicating what is necessary in order to persuade the court that injunctive relief is <br />appropriate, but needs to gather additional data in order to satisfy those burdens. <br />M/S/C Mottaz/John - to instruct the city engineer to furnish the city attorney any <br />information he might need for litigation. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />M/S/C Conlin/Johnson - to ask the Finance Director to prepare a tabulation of the city <br />costs on the Olson Lakes Project thus far and request the city engineer advise the <br />council on the scope of the work and updates at every council meeting. (Motion carried <br />5-0). <br />7. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: <br />8. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS: No Reports <br />9. MAC RECOMMENDATION ON LIGHT RESCUE VEHICLE: <br />The cost of the new light rescue vehicle will be approximately $60,985, which is higher <br />than was expected when the call for bids was placed. The 1993 Fire Department's <br />reserve fund contains $49,363 which means the city will have to provide the rest of the <br />money from its 1994 reserve fund which $17,000 is proposed. <br />M/S/C Mottaz/Johnson - to direct the Fire Chief and/or City Administrator to notify <br />General Safety, the apparent low bidder ($60,985), that the city intends to award the <br />contract for the Fire Department's light rescue vehicle, contingent upon receipt of <br />change order reflecting additional items stated in Chief Sachs letter dated September <br />16, 1993 including changes in price. (Motion carried 4-1:Johnston:concerned about <br />committing future resources that have not been approved. <br />10. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />A. Team Building:Goal Setting <br />The Council consensus was to not take part in a Team Building:Goal Setting workshop <br />j at a cost of $2,000. <br />
