UNOW <br />LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL WORKSHOP, f4 <br />JANUARY 11, 1994 <br />Mayor John called the workshop to order at 6:10 p.m. in the council chambers. <br />PRESENT: Mottaz, Conlin, John, Johnston, Johnson, Building Official Jim <br />McNamara and City Planner Steve Schwanke. <br />1. AGENDA <br />Add: review draft letter to Oakdale City Council. <br />M/S/C Conlin/Johnson - to approve the January 11, 1994 city council agenda as <br />amended. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />2. MINUTES: October 19, 1993 <br />M/S/C Johnson/John - to approve the October 19, 1993 Council minutes as <br />presented. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />3. Review letter to Oakdale City Council Members <br />Attorney Filla provided a draft of a letter which could be forwarded to the City of <br />Oakdale along with the Agreement of Undertaking, Joint Resolution and Joint <br />Powers Agreement. <br />The Council reviewed the letter and made the following changes: <br />Item c. Delete: "Educate ourselves in regard to" and ADD "Investigate" <br />2nd Paragraph: Add: word "strongly". We strongly believe our cities canty <br />resolve... <br />2nd Page, 1st Paragraph: Delete "Quite simply,..... development objectives." <br />Add last two sentences into one paragraph. <br />M/S/C Johnson/Conlin - to approve changes to letter to Oakdale City Council. <br />(Motion carried 5-0). <br />The Council reviewed the Agreement of Undertaking and made the following <br />change: <br />3b. 6th sentence: Delete "From the jurisdiction of Lake Elmo to the <br />jurisdiction of Oakdale" and ADD "between the two cities" <br />
