LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES MAY 3, 1994 <br />B. Request from School District 834 <br />Phi Fisher, School District #834, asked if the city would consider allowing them to <br />extend city hall's parking lot as far west as possible to resolve a parking problem <br />at the Lake Elmo Elementary School. They have looked at various ways of <br />solving this problem, They are willing to pay for improvement, engineering costs, <br />maintenance fee, and would build a bridge across drainage easement and path <br />to school from the parking lot. This would benefit the city when the council <br />conducts public hearings and additional parking is required. <br />M/S/C Mottaz/John - to direct the city engineer at a cost not to exceed $200 to <br />prepare a cost estimate to extend the parking lot and determine how many <br />parking spaces can be gained and submit this information to the School District <br />to see if they want to proceed. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />8. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: None <br />9. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS: <br />Mayor John reported there was a successful tree planting by Lake Elmo <br />Elementary Students, on Friday, April 29, in observance of Arbor Day. Mayor <br />John, Councilman Johnson, Mike Bouthilet and other commission members <br />assisted in the tree planting. <br />Council member Conlin reported today was Mayor John's birthday and to <br />celebrated his birthday a cake was presented. <br />M/S/C Conlin/Johnston - to take a 10 minute break to enjoy Mayor John's <br />birthday cake. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />10. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />A. Fire Department Annual Report <br />Chief Sachs presented a very comprehensive 1993 Fire Department Annual <br />Report. The new personnel carrier will be presented to the council at their May <br />17 council meeting. <br />M/S/C Johnson/John - to accept the 1993 Fire Department's Annual Report. <br />(Motion carried 5-0). <br />B. "Sam's Club" Membership <br />M/S/C Conlin/Johnston - to direct the city administrator to obtain a $25 per year <br />membership with Sam's Club. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />
