LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES MAY 3, 1994 4 <br />E. Update of VBWD Meeting relating to Olson Lake Estates Pond <br />The Mayor, City Engineer and Special Counsel, Chuck Dayton, attended the <br />April 28, 1994 VBWD District Meeting. Mayor John provided an update on the <br />meeting in his memo dated May 3, 1994. A special VBWD meeting will be held <br />on Thursday, May 5, 6:30 p.m. to discuss Olson Lakes Estates Pond which is <br />currently at the level approaching possible discharge. <br />6. PLANNING/LAND USE & ZONING: <br />A. Request from Colosimo regarding extension of Isle Avenue Cul-de-sac <br />The Council received a letter, dated April 18, 1994, from Grace Colosimo asking <br />that the City allow her to retain a private contractor for the engineer and <br />construction of the Isle Avenue cul-de-sac. <br />M/S/C Mottaz/John - to direct the city administrator to send a letter to Grace <br />Colosimo requesting she furnish an Itemized Statement, item for item that the <br />city engineer has presented to the city, regarding extension of Isle Avenue cul- <br />de-sac and to explain in the letter justification of City Engineering fees. (Motion <br />carried 5-0). <br />B. PUBLIC HEARING: Christopher Taylor/George Taylor <br />(Application Withdrawn) <br />The Council received a letter, dated April 29, 1994, from Lonny Thomas, <br />Attorney for Christopher Taylor, confirming that the named applicant has chosen <br />to temporarily withdraw his application for variances. <br />7. CITY ENGINEER'S REPORT: <br />A. MSA Update - Conrad Fence <br />The Council had no problem with Mr. Conrad installing his own fence as long as <br />it was under the city engineer's supervision. <br />M/S/C Mottaz/Johnston - to instruct the staff to schedule a public hearing for May <br />17, 1994 for a variance request by John Conrad, 3812 Jamaca Avenue, for a 6- <br />foot high solid wood fence on the right-of-way line to replace the screening <br />provided by the lilac hedge which was removed. (Motion carried 5-0). <br />
