LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES DECEMBER 6, 1994 <br />8. CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT: <br />Attorney Filla reported he appeared in Washington County District Court three weeks <br />ago, Thursday, on the Burgess matter. The purpose of the appearance was to argue a <br />motion that was made by the defense attorney to dismiss the complaint because the <br />city was selectively enforcing its regulations. In response to that motion, the defense <br />attorney cited about 6 or 7 circumstances in the city that he felt represented businesses <br />in residential zones that the city was aware of and was doing nothing about. We <br />argued against that. The Judge gave us a week to submit briefs. The briefs were <br />submitted and we are awaiting a decision from Judge Albertson on that issue. <br />9. CITY COUNCIL REPORTS: <br />Mayor John reported he attended the Washington County's Surveyor's Open House on <br />their Geographic Information System. <br />Council member Conlin reported she attended a special meeting of the Cable <br />Commission. This was to advise them that Ramsey/Washington Suburban Cable <br />Commission had been served with Summons and a Complaint on behalf of the former <br />Executive Director of Suburban Community Channels. Administrator Kueffner reported <br />she has been working with Mike Sather, White Bear Lake and there is a meeting <br />scheduled for January 5, 1995 at 7 p.m. <br />Council member Johnston reported she <br />description of a city planner and will be <br />planning commission and city council. <br />and Bob Helwig have been working on a <br />putting something together for review by the <br />10. CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT: <br />A. (1) 1995 Intoxicating and Non -intoxicating Liquor Licenses <br />M/S/P Johnson/Johnston - to grant a Club On -Sale Liquor License to the Veterans of <br />Foreign Wars Post 5725. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />M/S/P Johnson/Johnston - to grant an On -Sale and On -Sale Sunday intoxicating liquor <br />license to 3M Club of St. Paul. (Operators of Tartan Park). (Motion passed 5-0). <br />M/S/P Johnson/Johnston - to grant an On -Sale intoxicating liquor, Off -Sale intoxicating <br />liquor, and On -sale Sunday intoxicating liquor licenses to the Twin Point Tavern and <br />Lake Elmo Inn. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />M/S/P Johnson/Johnston - to grant an Off -Sale non -intoxicating malt liquor license to <br />the Brooks Superette. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />
