MINUTES APPROVED: August 1, 1995 LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JULY 18, 1995 6:00 p.m. Finance Department:Discussion with Auditors and Finance Director on the 1994 Annual Financial Report and Management Report and Recommendations Mayor John called the council meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. in the council chambers. PRESENT: Hunt, Conlin, John, Johnston, DeLapp, City Planner Terwedo, City Engineer Bohrer, City Attorney Filla and Administrator Kueffner. I.AGENDA ADD: Water Levels on Lake Elmo, Lake Jane, DeMontreville and Olson, EXECUTIVE SESSION:Status of Hammes Sand & Gravel Lawsuit; DELETE: 4C. postponed to August 1st council meeting M/S/P Johnston/Hunt - to approve the July 18, 1995 city council agenda as amended. (Motion passed 5- 0). 2. MINUTES: June 20, 1996 M/S/P Conlin/Johnston - to approve the June 20, 1995 City Council minutes as amended. (Motion passed 5-0). 3. CONSENT AGENDA: A. Claims M/S/P Johnston/Conlin - to approve the July 18, 1995 claims #3836 through #3935 as presented. (Motion passed 5-0). B. Resignation of Dorothy Sherburne from Heritage Preservation Commission M/S/P Johnston/Conlin - to accept the resignation of Dorothy Sherburne from the Heritage Preservation Commission and direct the staff to write Mrs. Sherburne a letter of appreciation. (Motion passed 5-0). C. Letter of interest for appointment to Heritage Preservation Commission M/S/P Johnston/Conlin - to acknowledge the letter of interest from Debbie Krueger for appointment to the Heritage Preservation Commission and to direct the staff to write to Mrs. Krueger and advise her that she will be notified when the Commission is reactivated. (Motion passed 5-0). D. Resignation of Susan Koch from Planning Commission M/S/P Johnston/Conlin - to accept the resignation of Susan Koch from the Planning Commission and direct the staff to write Ms. Koch a letter of appreciation. (Motion passed 5-0). E. Water Leak in Old Village David Holm, Water Leak Locators, Platteville WI, has provided a list of references and an estimate for service of $1,000 or $500 if he is unable to locate the leak. Mr. Holm found the leak on Tuesday at the west end of Lake Elmo Oil. The maintenance dept. shut that water off over night to verify this was the leak and the water use readings the next day indicate this was the right area. The maintenance crew repaired the leak on Wednesday night. M/S/P Johnston/Conlin - to approve up to $1,000 as quoted by Water Leak Locators, 166 Mine RD, P.O. Box 409, Platteville, WI, to find the water main leak in the Old Village. (Motion passed 5-0).
