LAKE ELMO CITY COUNCIL MINUTES JANUARY 16, 1996 5 <br />Councilman Hunt indicated the City has to determine if this is a legal duplex. If there are other duplexes <br />in the City operating in a single family zone, the staff needs to investigate those also. <br />M/S/P Johnston/Conlin - to direct the staff to review the background on the conversion of this home at <br />9442 Stillwater Blvd. from a single family use to a duplex and to prepare a letter to the Attorney General <br />requesting an interpretation of Minn. Stat. 462.257 Subd. 7 and Subd. 8. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />E. Schwartz variance request (tabled form December, 1995) <br />Staff request for extension until February 6, 1996 <br />Planner Terwedo reported the staff has reviewed the lot sizes, land uses, and buildings on the north end <br />of Lake Elmo in the "Old Village". This was a direction in response to a variance request by the Schwartz <br />family on 32nd St. Staff intends to photograph the north end of Lake Elmo from the lake and review the <br />general size and character of structures on the lots shown on the map provided. The Council did not <br />want to see this dragged out, but wanted the information available so they could take action on the <br />Schwartz request at the February 6, 1996 meeting. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Johnston - to continue Case No. W95-31 (Schwartz variance) until February 6, 1996 so staff <br />has time to complete the study on the lots on the north side of Lake Elmo. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />F. VAA looking for soccer field sites <br />Planner Terwedo reported the St. Croix Valley Soccer Assoc. is looking for soccer field sites, and she will <br />be meeting with their representative. <br />G. Standards and uses in Ag District <br />Planner Terwedo reported standards and uses have been established for the Ag District and will be <br />presented in ordinance form at the February 6, 1996 Council meeting. <br />H. Setting dates for PZ/CC residential workshop <br />M/S/P Hunt/Johnston - to schedule a joint City Council/Planning Commission workshop on Open Space <br />Development: Density Issues for Tuesday, January 30, 1996, 6 p.m., and reschedule the City Council <br />workshop from Saturday, February 3 to February 10, 1996, 8 a.m.-Noon, at a site selected by the City <br />Planner. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />7. PARKS/MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT: <br />A. Response to "Adopt -A -Park' Program <br />The following residents and/or organizations have signed up to Adopt -A -Park in Lake Elmo.
