Mayor John called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m, in the Council chambers. PRESENT: Hunt, Dunn, <br />John, Conlin, DeLapp, City Attorney Fills, City Engineer Prew, City Planner Terwedo and Administrator <br />Kueffner. <br />1. AGENDA <br />M/S/P Hunt/Dunn — to approve the May 6, 1997 City Council agenda as amended. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />2. MINUTES: April 8, 1997 <br />M/S/P Dunn/Conlin - to approve the April 8, 1997 Council Workshop minutes as presented. (Motion <br />passed 4-0-1:Abstain:Hunt). <br />MINUTES: April 15, 1997 <br />M/S/P Hunt/Conlin - to approve the April 15, 1997 City Council minutes as amended. (Motion passed 5- <br />0). <br />MINUTES: April 29, 1997 <br />M/S/P Conlin/DeLapp - to approve the April 29, 1997 Special Council Meeting as amended. (Motion passed <br />5-0). <br />3. CLAIMS <br />M/S/P Hunt/Dunn — to approve the May 6, 1997 Claims #5842 through #5891, as presented. (Motion <br />passed 5-0). <br />4. PUBLIC INFROMATIONALANOUIRIES; <br />A. Public Inquiries <br />M/S/P Hunt/Dunn — to postpone public inquiries until residents who are requesting a resolution supporting <br />a no build option for County Road 15 can attend. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />Geri Breheim, 8415 38`h St. N., stated when the original plans came in for the Zycad Building there were <br />proposed offshoots off of 40'h St. —what are the plans for 40'h Street since it has not been maintained <br />properly. <br />M/S/P Hunt/Dunn — to direct the staff to contact City of Oakdale asking what their plans are for 40`h Street <br />and report back at the neat council meeting. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />B. Request to waive lights at Lions Park:Lake Elmo Baseball Assoc <br />Mike Mazzara, Secretary/Treasurer, Lake Elmo Baseball Assoc, has organized a 10, 11 and 12-year old <br />traveling baseball team with children from Lake Elmo area only and has scheduled their home games at <br />Lions Park. The Association is requesting that the City waive its fee for using the lights at Lions Park. <br />M/S/P DeLapp/Duan — to waive the light fees at Lions Park for the Lake Elmo Baseball Association per the <br />request from Mike Mazzara dated April 28, 1997. (Motion passed 5-0). <br />Because this has been an ongoing request from other local baseball clubs and it has been the City's practice <br />to waive these fees, the following motion was made. <br />M/S/P Conlin/Hunt — to direct the staff to review the light policy for city parks and re-evaluate the use of <br />lights approved administratively and bring back to Council with a recommendation (Motion passed 5-0). <br />C. Letter from League of MN Cities regarding Help for Flood Affected Cities <br />The City received a memo from the League of Minnesota Cities regarding its newly created "Cities <br />Helping Cities Program". The League has heard from many cities needing flood assistance information, <br />and cities offering their equipment, personnel and even money to meet those needs.
